Position Description

Trustees / Board Members - Te Puna Umanga, Venture Taranaki
With the pending retirement of two trustees and future proofing of additional trustees, NPDC is seeking expressions of interest from well-connected individuals who are passionate about the future prosperity of Taranaki and who are prepared to play an active and present role on the board.

These are paid positions requiring a minimum of 15 – 20 hours of commitment per month.

About The Organisation

Te Puna Umanga, Venture Taranaki (Venture Taranaki) is the regional development agency for the Taranaki region. A Council Controlled Organisation owned by the New Plymouth District Council (NPDC), Venture Taranaki plays a critical role in helping Taranaki reach its potential, catalysing opportunities that result in regional revenue (GDP), job creation, and regional investment.

The successfully appointed trustees will be highly respected individuals who have proven governance experience, are innovative, have an entrepreneurial spirit and are comfortable supporting open debate, challenging the status quo and stretching the CE and management team to achieve NPDC’s strategic objectives.

A connection back to Taranaki is important, however, diversity, expertise and a passion for the future prosperity of Taranaki are equally as important, meaning we are open to receiving interest from experienced or well-connected individuals who may be located outside of the region.
